Firefox continues to claw users away from IE - the most recent measure by web analyst NetApplications shows Firefox has a worldwide market share of 15 per cent, compared with 78 per cent for IE.
Recent measures from another firm, XiTi Monitor, say Firefox enjoys an almost 25 per cent share of the market in Oceania - larger than its share in Europe, Asia and America.
And the security lowdown:A recent analysis by Brian Krebs from The Washington Post showed IE6 was vulnerable to critical flaws for 284 days of last year, compared with a single nine-day period of vulnerability for Firefox.
It gets better:With the upcoming Firefox 3, Ms Baker said a key new feature would be the ability to access online applications such as web-based email and calendars when one is not connected to the internet.
All changes made when offline would be applied when the internet connection was re-established.

Mozilla Labs is already testing a proposed new social tool called The Coop (

It was yet to be decided whether The Coop would be included in the final release of Firefox 3, Ms Baker said.
