    • Found the source: www.theage.com.au/news/web/firefox-claws...2/1177788202450.html
Firefox continues to claw users away from IE - the most recent measure by web analyst NetApplications shows Firefox has a worldwide market share of 15 per cent, compared with 78 per cent for IE.

Recent measures from another firm, XiTi Monitor, say Firefox enjoys an almost 25 per cent share of the market in Oceania - larger than its share in Europe, Asia and America.
      And the security lowdown:
A recent analysis by Brian Krebs from The Washington Post showed IE6 was vulnerable to critical flaws for 284 days of last year, compared with a single nine-day period of vulnerability for Firefox.

      It gets better:
With the upcoming Firefox 3, Ms Baker said a key new feature would be the ability to access online applications such as web-based email and calendars when one is not connected to the internet.

All changes made when offline would be applied when the internet connection was re-established.
      and better..
also investigating whether other applications, such as instant messaging and social networking, work best when integrated into the web browser.

Mozilla Labs is already testing a proposed new social tool called The Coop ( labs.mozilla.com/2007/04/keep-track-of-y...iends-with-the-coop/ ), which lets users share links, pictures, movies and blog posts with friends through Firefox.

It was yet to be decided whether The Coop would be included in the final release of Firefox 3, Ms Baker said.

    • Out of the box I dont really care between FF2 and IE7, they both got nice stuff and both are equally fast....
But as a developer FF2 cant be beaten really - IE7 is only used for testing.

But yeah if everyone would get a decent monitor size and a FF browser life would be peachy :)

      I refuse to cater to the 640 X 800 crowd... I mean, c'mon... it's 2007 people, get a decent monitor! [/rant]

I'd like to ditch the 800X600 crowd, but there are just too many folks out there running at that resolution.

      Cheers!
