Before I purchase a "High-end" Wacom tablet, I thought I would try-out an inexpensive one first... mostly, to see if I like the feel of the digital interface.
I know this is a cheap one but I am wondering if anyone has any experience with this tablet:

Is it any good?
Would this tablet be close to "the feel" of a Wacom tablet? (and I mean the actual Touch-feel-sensitivity)
Do they all feel the same?

Hi Robert. Please don't repeat the same mistake that I made when I bought my first tablet. You will just wipe the dust over it months later when you will know for sure entry-level tablets are mainly for fun or web experience (touch ones) (not a very good one).
If you want to design professionally a Wacom Intuos 4 is the minimum point to start IMO. I have tested several tablets beside Wacom's , and from my experience the entry-level ones do not come even close.
To summarize, Intuos 4 (you will choose what series) has the best price/quality coefficient. If you just want to doodle , you can choose a Bamboo , but the dust will settle very soon on it

The reason I am considering an "entry-level" tablet is because of the "collecting dust" metaphor that you used. I don't know if I will even like the feel and/or response with these tablets! With my traditional artwork, I like the rough-textured paper and other mediums. So, I don't know..... I don't know if I'll even like the pen-tablet feel. I definitely will NOT like it, if there's any delay! I still run XP on both computers and I had to find one that would work well on XP.

UPS actually delivered this today on Christmas-eve! I've played with it a little and it is gonna take some SERIOUS "getting used-to!" I can't seem to get past the Not looking at the nib while drawing. It's an awkward feeling for me.... But I'm sure, like most things, there is a learning curve associated with learning the "In's-and-Out's" of a digi-tablet!
I can report that this model DOES, in-fact, operate seamlessly and there is no lag while running on XP. The software installed without a hitch and the included driver works perfectly with no conflicts!
After I finish some oil-pastel projects that I am right in the middle of, I am gonna spend a week-minimum with this tablet and try to develop some feel! I am excited about this tablet because I use JASC Paint-Shop Pro and I have only been able to mouse-draw before getting this tablet. The tablet came with a nice drawing program called Art Rage Pro! I have only played-around with it a few minutes so far but it seems pretty cool.
I also have Photoshop, but it doesn't run too well on my XP laptop (too resource hungry)!

I like this Adesso Tablet!! I know it's a cheap one but it works great! The one thing I have read is that the cheaper ones aren't as pressure-sensitive as the higher-End Wacom tablets; but his one works just fine!
I got a tip from a friend that said to tape-down some regular printer paper on top of the tablet to give it a more paper-like feel.... I did that and it amazing how much more feel it gives me!
I know what I want now.... I want a Cintiq 21ux.... Man! That thing looks AWESOME!!! Does anyone have one of those??? I want one! If I win the Arkansas Lottery, I'm getting one.... Right after I get myself one of those 2011 Corvette's! I do have my Priorities!!! LMAO

I love Wacoms. But, I have to tell you something that may break your heart and hope: I tried the Cintiq 21ux at campus when I was finishing up my Master's and honestly I hated it. I think it might be because I have used a trad Wacom for so long, and recently I have used my PTK840 considerably so maybe I just am used to looking up at the monitor while working on the tab. But the Cintiq 21ux just didn't do it for me. Plus, it in no way felt as nice as the PTK480 I am using that costs considerably less. That being said, the one thing that did blow me away with the Cintiq 21ux is the pen and it's options available. Very very nice, but just give me that pen on a Intuos 4 and it's be gold. :cheesy:
BTW, if RT would open up a Cintiq 21ux Fund for Wage I'd donate a few bucks...

When someone is impatient and says, "I haven't got all day," I always wonder, How can that be? How can you not have all day?
Wow! That was some really good feedback!
I love hearing people's "first-hand" experiences like that!

What abut the I-Pad? is it any good? I think Apple promotes a sketch program from Autodesk called Sketchbook Pro! I have seen a lot of people using that but nobody specifically states how much "feel or sensitivity" the Ipad actually has!
I would think that that's the ONE-THING that Apple would want to "get-right" before launch of the product!
HAHA---- "Inquiring minds want to know!"
Thanks for the great feedback!
