The ones I use certainly are. mosets hot property is by a long shot the best joomla real estate extension. azrul's jomcomment is certainly the best comment extension IMO.
Of course not all commercial extensions are created equal. I've read some crap reviews about support from commercial developers but the ones i mention are perfect.
An example of why a commercial extension is sometimes better:
joomlaworks tabs n slides won't work on a site of mine on the same page as monoslideshow(IE). I posted but as it is a free extension didn't even get a single post from the developer, he didn't even bother to say "can't be done, too bad". Simply no response. And why should he? He has done me a great service providing the script free of charge and GNU/GPL to boot. I understand that. I'm happy.
However, with paid extensions, the developer is under an obligation to at the very least respond to my queries. The developers I mentioned in my previous post provide first class support. If it can't be done, they politely explain why and always make an effort to include it in future updates, if technically possible.
With commercial extensions you're also assured (almost certain) that the product will be updated and any bugs fixed as time passes. With GNU/GPL there is often no incentive for the developer to continue development. There are a myriad examples of this happening.
Note something that happened recently with a GNU/GPL component I use on EVERY site I develop... joomap. The joomla forge moved and it simply dropped off the edge of the earth. Obviously the developer hasn't visited joomla in a few months and hasn't noticed that his much beloved component is MIA. This would never happen with a commercial extension.
All that said, I'm always reviewing new extensions so if a GNU/GPL one came out that offered better functionality and was aesthetically better of course I'd prefer it over a commercial joomla extension. At the end of the day I never ever use GNU/GPL based solely on principal. I'm a Windows user for the simple reason that there are a few programs (fireworks for example) that simple don't have linux equivalents and I can't afford a Mac. Bottom line is, if it works better and is affordable, i'll pay for it. - Last Edit: 17 years 6 months ago by GollumX.

MyBlog and Commenting, Ijoom Magazine, XeVideoGal2, plus a few other misfit plugins some of them I DID drop from using as even though I did pay,, the promise of future development never happened,,, and I wont name the names as I am not about that. it is safe to say though,, that not ALL pay for plugins for Joom will support or even update.

I think the title of the topic should have said ‘I need to achieve this, list extensions in this regard’ cause not all commercial products are build equally nor all developers of commercial extensions provide adequate support, in fact most of them if not all have disclaimer notice about their product and support, sometimes I have had better support from developers of free products than commercial.
For instance I bought AutoEXP commercial product tried to install got error message, contacted developer numerous time, it’s been three months I am still waiting for a reply, to make matter worst they don’t even have a support forum so I am out of $49 on the other hand I found AutoStand free product excellent support.
Since jocomment was mentioned I have to say I have no idea why people like JoComment from azrul I never did maybe cause when it was free I used it had lots of problems, I am not going to pay $30 buck to find out if problems are solved or not, I am very happy using AkoComment Tweaked.
Another dissatisfying commercial product MyBlog I even bought the Pro version but lacks many features.
Support wise had to wait nearly 2 and half month to get a fix for mosDirectory that too after bumping my support request every week.
Again since mosets was mentioned have to say SOBI2 seems to be much better combined with SOBI Dreamweaver extension one can design any layout, though have to mention the only time I used mosets was their demo however they have been on version 1.5 for almost a year where as SOBI has been updated biweekly.
In my opinion free, GNU/GP extension have better support altogether, others can improve on and give support by downloading and testing example of that is Internet Radio module I had a problem couldn’t reach the developer (he is active now) posted in joomla forum some one actually download the program installed it fixed it and send the fixed file for me, same can not be said for commercial product, I tried to get a developer to develop/implement SMF discussbot in MyBlog instead of jocomment but I couldn’t cause being a commercial product developer didn’t have access to MyBlog component and I didn’t want to pay for another license and developers of MyBlog refused I assume this cause my emails went unanswered.

Well I wanted a list of components that clients could pay to have installed
Now I don't need a list for free, just one saying 'Free Component'
But for commercial I need a list of all the different ones + the price that they add
