    • [SOLVED] I have been working with Adobe Photoshop for about 12 years. I am having trouble getting my profile picture down to 20KB so that it will upload to my RocketTheme profile. No matter what I do I cannot get the file size below 22KB so my picture will not upload.

      I am using the crop tool and setting the size to 100 pix X 100 pix and have tried both 96 dpi and 72 dpi and I still cannot get the file size to 20KB or smaller. I am also using a B&W picture so there is less information. I would like for people on the forum to know what I look like. Please help!

    • Hi there,

      I tend to use Fireworks and what I do is create a slice over the image and then export as png, jpg or gif. My avatar here is 3.02Kb (gif) and 11Kb as jpg. this ensures any layers etc are ignored.

    • Save from Fireworks with jpeg quality 70-80.
      Photoshop creates files with the sizes almost in 2 times biggest than Fireworks.

      P.S. Both with a save for web-option, and without it.

      Sorry for traffic, but look examples - 3 variants: Photoshop save as JPEG, save for web and devices, and jpeg from Fireworks.

      All images with same quality - 80.

      P.S.S Good theme for short lessons :D
