    Static Content

    • Hi guys, this is maybe a bit more Joomla question.

But why are you using so many static content pages. I thought that the advantage of Joomla is to use the 'dynamic' content.

      Am I missing here something?

    • What do you mean by "dynamic" pages?

    • :) . OK, maybe it's a stupid question and I used the wrong wording. Not 'dynamic' but 'normal'.

Basically the difference between static content and a normal Content Item is that static content:
Does not have a Section and Category structure
Cannot be published to the Front Page.

I was always trying to avoid use of the static content when creating web using joomla. Because the 'normal content' sounds more flexible. But in your template example almost all content is in 'static content' so I was wondering what was the reason for that, if any?

    • The RT tutorial pages are all constructed as Static content. There is not need to make these as Content items as they need to be "static" pages with just pure information.

It was originally posted into Versatility III forum. Anyway. I like it like it is, because the website I'm building now is basically one person's presentation, so the content will not change so often. Thanks for your input.

    • You can change static content just as easily as content items. I believe you are getting them confused.
