Hello, I need to set up a payment system for a client. I have never done a non-shopping cart payment system. I am imagining it like an ebay auction. The customers requests a service, and the website sends an e-mail to the owner who sends an invoice and I want that invoice payable through some means, maybe even mulitple means. Can anyone give me some ideas about this I am a bit lost.
The website is paradisepedals.com and he sells tours of hawaii on a pedal pub.

You could still do it with a shopping cart, or even easier... ECWID.
Ive used ECWID many times before and you can have unlimited options on each item and each option can increase or decease the total price etc...
Hmm I did use Ecwid once but I guess I am not that experienced.
Lets say there are 2 "routes" people can buy. They charge hourly and you can choose how many hours. Finally, you can choose how many people.
So I set up product in ecwid that is a route, and the options are length and number of people and those options let me change the price? I need to go try this out.
The total will update depending on the hours selected, you could just increment per hour if you wanted too and have a drop down ranging from 1 > 100 hours, it doesnt appear to be limited.
You can also have a second option on each product to select the number of people going and get it to add 100%, 200%, 300% to the total etc...
Should work fine.
Also ECWID is hosted, which is good for keeping your client away from the admin backend of joomla, he can manage the items and shop from ECWID without ever needing to log into Joomla, making it impossible for him to mess the site up.
Oh and ECWID also manages all the emails and SSL stuff for you, it even makes a pretty good affiliate system too
Ok help me with this then. There are 2 routes, and you can either rent the whole bike bar, or only rent a number of seats on the bar.
You need to choose a duration for both
You only need to name the number of single seats for seats. As renting the whole bar will rent all the seats. Is there a "switch" mechanism so you can switch between Seats or Vehicle and get different options?
Currently I set it up so Vehicle Rental and Single Seat are the 2 products, the route, duration and #of people are all options. But I would rather "sell" the routes so I can describe them in the product description.
