Help with Page Class Suffix please?

First off, I'm a beginner with Joomla and CSS in general, but I'm slowly learning as I go along. I want to be able to give individual sections of my site some pizazz or excitement. I was told the way to do this is with the page class suffix. For example, in a blog layout display, I have a bunch of customer testimonials I want to show. If you click the link below, you will see how they are just boring as is. If I want to develop a style that makes the heading bigger and bolder, and makes the text stand out more, etc. What can I do so that it will be applied to all those content items. I hope I'm askinq the question correctly. Basically, I'm unsure if I need to create all these content items first, or create the style first, and then how do I go about creating the content item so that it utilizes that style?

- OK, now that I understand that it comes from the div.contentpane and how to make the CSS rule in the template css file, What about when it comes to creating the individual content items? For example, say I wanted to have some kind of background color behind each item , perhaps alternating to make it easier to read. Could something like this be done?

- I'm using Pixel Perfect. What do I do after that? Can I input all the content items for the blog listing and apply the style later? Or do I have to set up the style first and apply it to each content item as I go along? I want to start getting all the content in if possible.
