Stress testing new server

    • Hello all!
Got a new server recently, and want to see what it can handle. I figured the best way to test it's abilities was by tossing an online game on it and getting some people to login and see when it starts to choke:) I also have 2 variables to test for the bandwidth. I have the regular connection (6MB down/500k up) and the new big boy (6mb down/2mb up), so I planned on leaving the regular connection on at first, then when the server starts to show signs of slowing down because of the amount of people logged into it, try putting the bigger connection onto it and seeing how many more can fit on it then. I am hoping that the hardware will be able to handle more than the regular cable connection can support, because if not, I am wasting my money on the bigger connection. Only way to find out though is to get some people on it. So if anyone is interested in helping out in this experiment, PM me and I will give you the details needed to login to the game server. I am hoping to get about 50 people on at once. We have 3 covered here at the house, and 2 or 3 more freinds are going to login, but I doubt that is enough to test it. So like I said, if anyone wants to help and and have some fun playing an online game at the same time, PM me for the details to get on:)

      Thanks,
      David Henderson

      P.S.
Fair warning, the client is BIG..at just over 3GB...so it may take you a little bit before you are able to play:) Here is the link for the download of the client: http://www.gamershell.com/download_18458.shtml . Grab that if you are interested and PM me and I will PM back the IP of the server for you to login:)
