Former New England linebacker Ted Johnson's life is in a bad place. He says it's because of concussions suffered while playing football.
In stories in The Boston Globe and The New York Times, Johnson has suffered numerous head traumas from football that "have left Johnson with post-concussion syndrome as well as signs of early brain damage that (Dr. Robert) Cantu fears is permanent."
"There's something wrong with me," Johnson told The New York Times.
The Globe's story details Johnson's battle with "depression, dizziness, excessive drowsiness, fatigue, irritability, memory loss, poor concentration, ringing in the ears, and acute sensitivity to noise."
He has had over 30 concussions!
The thing to remember is, he was wearing a helmet!
