Hosting Question

  • Hosting Question

Posted 17 years 8 months ago
    • My current web hosting company isn't getting the job done anymore. I'm looking at moving my sites to a new provider and I'm thinking about one of these. Has anybody heard anything good or bad about any of them?

      1. Bluehost.com
      2. Apollohosting.com
      3. GeekStorage.com

I'm going to have 7 websites, with 6 of them running Joomla.

      Thanks

    • I was with apollo years ago. their support was great at first, then it became so bad I had to leave. My sites were constantly down with no explanation, and it was very difficult to get a response from the help desk.

I use either Hostgator or Godaddy and have no problem with either, other than Godaddy is slow on large dynamic sites.

    • Out of those 3 choices, I'd go with Hostgator.

    • Checkout site5.com, I have been with company for almost a year now from a different host. I have not called tech support yet. Just another option.

    • look at www.5quidhost.com

small hosting company with emphasis on customer

my shared server account is doing about 70gb a month in bandwidth, two sites getting quite a bit of traffic and i've never had a problem and they are faster/much better uptime than bluehost (who i also use) as i monitor everything through www.pingdom.com

they also have a special offer on at the moment where you only pay for 6 months hosting and get 9 or pay for a year and you get 18

there is also a free service you can try out ...

    • I really appreciate the suggestions. The 3 I listed where just 3 that came to mind but I'll take all of your considerations under review. I've heard about Lunar Pages, although I didn't even think about it until it was posted.

      Thanks!

    • I will consider www.rochenhost.com/multiple-domain-hosting/ which after looking and asking for a while is the one that fits
my needs. you can consider the reseller package. (I'm not selling anything here, I don't have an affiliate account yet ;) )

It's a little bit more expensive than the others but I will give them a try.

I have a site with bluehost.com , seems ok, but I been working with tech support since the begging.
