How capture user login name and pass the variable to reporting tool

We need help on this ASAP.
We are using DBQuery to help us bring our reports to the web for our customers to access. The current hang up is passing the user variable so we know which reports to present to the logged in visitor. We want the customer to come to the site and login with a login and password that we provide. This login name is the same variable we use internally as their customer code in our reports. We want to automatically capture their login name and use it to display only their relevant reports. We are getting this error and having little luck finding a resolution:
Testing input 'nwr50' against variable 'Joomla_User_Id' (9) Accepting valid input 'nwr50' for variable Joomla_User_Id (9) Replace: 'Joomla_User_Id' (9): '${Joomla_User_Id}' to be replaced with 'nwr50'
Any ideas, however simple, to resolve this would be greatly appreciated. If we going about it the wrong way or DBQuery is not the best solution, please advise.
