    • Is there a problem with joomlancers ? Because I was thinking about posting a request there for a custom upload component.
    • I use simplix, does this mean that I'm a simple guy ? :)

    • It's good as long as you don't land one of the 6 million students on there who will make you a piece of crap which you then have to go to a real developer to make right.

      Allegedly.

    • Mine wasn't an actual problem with the people on it, more likely an email bug!

    • I haven't had erroneous emails - just the usual - these jobs match your skills etc.

The biggest headache is how do you compete with people who are happy to work all day for $10 ???

If you get a good bid accepted then it is easier to get repeat work from clients. I have been lucky with a couple of customers from Joomlancers.

Be prepared for a lot of unrealistic competition if you start bidding for work.

Exactly...although the fact that time and time again I get people coming to me after being stuffed over on JL et al speaks volumes I think.

I've actually had work from there from people who've found my profile and contacted me outside of the system - so it's not all bad :)

    • It seems a great idea in principle but the practicalities are far from it :)

So where fine the professionals then? Its true than in every bunch of peanuts you put in your mouth, one or two may be rotten. JLancers i believe try their best to provide with joomla customization, i mean if it were the only option left out to some one to get a custom job, i rekon they should use them. But unless professionals show themselves, people will mess about with amateurs.

BTW is there any official joomla expertz site like the people at Boonex do where you can find expert help (even paid) out of a forum kind of context and pure meet ups?

    • It was not a command phrase, I meant I do not use them :)
