Hello !
I'm using Versatility III Templates since last three months. I love it.
Yesterday my site was hacked due to a backdoor in the application whick I'm using,<My hosting company said that it is most likely in Joomla.
I heard, It is called a URL injection or SQL injection. If someone is aware of a backdoor in a component or module I'm using, they are able to append a shell command to the HTTP POST request therefore writing a file to the server.
They suggest me that I've to ensure that all parts of my Joomla website are secure by upgrading to the the latest stable versions. What is these means ? This time I solved my problem, installing a new copy of Joomla to a temporary directory and then extracting the index.php file and replacing the existing index.php file in my /www/ folder.
But I need to know the following things so that this does not happen again, or does not happen to my other sites on which I'm using Joomla. I had installed some components, module but I don't which is not stable or ????
There is a great security forum on the
www.joomla.org
website that has a list of 3rd party add-ons and their security status. Also, there is some great info for making your Joomla site more secure.
