    Slipstream install

Posted 12 years 6 months ago
    • Hi ya, does anybody know how I would go about adding extensions to a joomla install? I tend to install the same extensions time after time (Akeeba backup, admin tools, image plugins etc etc) it would be handy to have them all in one copy of joomla, rather than installing them each time.

I keep them all on my PC so it's not a massive problem, but anything for an easier life I say!

    • Ladbroke,
The way I solved this, as many others have as well, is to make a 'template' installation like a Rocketlauncher.
Make a Joomla site, add all of your favorite extensions, then save the site as a backup with Akeeba Backup. Save the backup as your 'template' on your hard drive.
When you are ready to deploy another new site, use Akeeba's kickstart and 'restore' that template to a new database.
      Make sense?
