Cant upload files in FTP

- And still another question from the new boy on the block
  
  I have made changes to Index.PHP and logo - when uploading these to the site I have changed the file attributes to 755 and also I have settings to CHMOD files
  
  But I dont seem to be able to upload these files to my host with FILEZILLA giving the message upload failed
  
  Can anyone help with this please?

- This is a problem of permissions.
  
  Install JoomlaXplorer, you will be able to edit, delete, copy, rename your files and change file permissions : extensions.joomla.org/component/option,c...nk_id,102/Itemid,35/

  This is the message I get now from Joomla
  
  ERROR: Could not find an XML setup file in the package.
  
  Is this something I am missing?
  
  This could be a long night

  And did you use the component installer ?

- Excellent!... I was having the EXACT same problem!
  
  I've still got a problem though....I still can't edit the index.php file.
  
  Could it have anything to do with this message that appears all over Joomla Explorer? (see below)

  Try to use your Control Panel from your hosting company to see the permissions on the folders and files.
  
  Most hosting companies have a ftp or file manager on the control panel.
