Sort of group digital diary?

Hi all
I'm looking for some component, preferably J3 compatible, to allow few people to have common, private blog or digital diary. Like for sharing ideas within closed group or just documenting something.
I've been looking through JED for a while but I can't find anything specific.
Could you guys please suggest something?

Create new ACL group in Joomla, assign few users to that group, create Joomla category and assign it to that specific group.
That is all you really need

Many thanks for your reply, however I'm not sure if I follow
Can you please elaborate a bit more? I'm generally familiar with groups, I know how to create group and let only people from this group see menu or article category, but how can I allow people to post articles within this category? Possibly without administrator accepting each article?

I had no time previously but finally I started to digg into this this.
One question: how to publish articles automatically in Joomla 3?
Is there such option?

Idea is: registered user will submit article to the diary. He will be belonging to registered group and my diary group. Whatever he will write in the article I'd like to be automatically published within assigned category.
for the moment articles are being created, but they are not published.
Sorry for asking so many RTFM questions..
