Why I'm not a Google Adsense Fan

    • Mainly because you have no control over the ads that appear on your site.

Here's a great example, I followed a link from here to Joomla.org, and this is the page I got. I blurred out the site name.

Just what I like to see on my pages. I have widgets, and the ad says widgets SUCK. Funny, but not funny.

    • I hate all ads placed just as above. It is just where you expect the content to show.

    • you actually can control the ads that appear but only after you know what they are .. i dont expect to see this ad again simply because it will be a banned url

    • Yeah, my local church have a website with free hosting which forces you to show Google ads. They are constantly filled with adverts about the antichrist and anti-church stuff. Makes me chuckle but I will admit it's not entirely suitable.

However, my first Adsense payout will be with me soon, so it does have some plus points ;D

I use adsense notifier for Firefox. So I always see in the browser how much I earn :)
Totally agree with you; AdSense is the better revenue generator.

    • You CAN block you competitors ads from viewing on your page (as many as 200, I think). Go to the Google "AdSense Help Center" and follow these links ... Google Help > AdSense Help > Working with My Ads > Filtering Ads

      Here is the direct link:
      www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/topic.py?topic=154

You actually need to block all the ads' URLs, so each competitor could have multiples. Be sure to check out the Google AdSense Preview Tool, it allows you to see what ads WILL be running on your site.

I hope it is worth it for you,
