Buying scripts for your website

Hello
I have a few ideas for websites and I have come across off the shelf scripts that, on the face of it may do what I need. At least as a low cost way of judging the market potential before possibly having my own coding done.
There are various sites that provide scripts but Im wondering if any of you guys use these, are they good, what possibloe downfalls are there and maybe you can suggest good places to buy.
I have been thinking of an image hosting site (photolia) or (freelancer) type of site.
This is really new to me and so any help would be good

What exactly do you need? If you plan to buy standalone script than you will have problems integrating it into joomla

Hi Igor, thanks for your reply.
I have notice I can buy scripts for say an stock image site and these may or may not come with a website, Im really after peoples own experience as to whether these scripts are of value and I really would have liked to use them with Joomla, why do they not work?

You would have to integrate them somehow into Joomla using wrapper of some kind of custom development. Not worth it if you ask me

Why not reference one of the scripts you have in mind and maybe tell us about your general idea. No need to divulge the secret sauce behind your endeavor, but there are so many ways to accomplish things especially if you just want to test the concept first!
Maybe some of us can help you with some ideas!

(Mainly Good for Hosting and Sharing Media)
and
Phoca - phoca.cz/
(Good for Anything, Many Integrations for Ecommerce)
I've used both, I recommend both. Of course, I've never used either to sell images, but the demo for Phoca seems promising -> www.phoca.cz/stockphoto/stock-photos/category/2-nature
