    HTML & PHP Encryption Tools

Posted 17 years 7 months ago
    • I've been working on a couple of projects for a customer, in this case it's pure HTML and PHP not Joomla. I was wondering if anyone could reccommend a really good encryption programme to protect all my hard work but still enable the files to work on the WWW.

      Thanks in advance.

    • You may want to check out ioncube. They have a php encoder and html encoder. The html encoder is free, but the php encoder is not. In addition, loader files must be uploaded to the server the files are put on to decrypt the files. Personally, I hate encryption on php files. But if you want protection, the php encoder does work.

    • Thank you. I will take another look at this app. The reason for protection is basically to enable me to provide my clients with a site overview prior to final payment. In other words they can't steal the development until they have paid. Once payment has been made who cares ;D

    • If you're running a demo for them, they shouldn't be able to "steal" the php files, unless they are are on their servers already.

Your web browser only displays the HTML output of your php files. Yes, they could right-click and view source to see HTML output, but the php processing is happening on your server and not sent to the browser so there's not much they can really "steal" from php.

    • That's really sad. I would never get involved with people i didn't trust.

Is the client in a 3rd world country?

Fair enough Justin. Good luck with the project, and please let us know what you end up using and how well it meets your needs.
