Template with native print support

    • Is there a rockettheme with native print support ? I mean where is at least the minimal design ready to print with the browsers print function ? I tried it with the newer responsive templates but so far i cant find any.
I mean what are these all so nice templates worth if you cant print them or need to start from scratch to get that done ?

    • Print support in joomla is mostly to print single articles.
Printing is to print information and not design elements.
The web is not a typewriter.
So that is native print support in joomla.
If you want more than that I suggest to post on joomla.org

    • Sorry Henning. I dont agree. I am not talking about Joomla, i am talking about Rockettheme.

They make templates. The templates are good for to deliver a website with good user experience.

The user (which is the king) wanted and will in the future print webpages in the same ease manner like they view it. That's facts which are known to the world.

My personal meaning is that the print (button) feature in joomla is not good because it uses another way then the standard which is the in browser included print function. This was better if it uses the same way like the browsers function.

That Rockettheme deliveres no browser print support must just be a mistake (which happens sometimes) in my mind ...

    • "That's facts which are known to the world."

so wrong ... so wrong. With all respect ... but that is pure nonsense.
You can still just add a print button yourself. Google for it. www.w3schools.com/js/tryit.asp?filename=tryjs_print

We won't support such a useless thing that is so bad for the environment.

    • "We won't support such a useless thing that is so bad for the environment."

      Realism is something else ....

I respect this then, but i strongly disagree that printing is useless. Sure its a specific task which is used mainly for a special purpose and its (hopefully) decreasing.

For the moment and the generations which are not that fast in adopting new technologies, printing is a tool which is needed. Unfortunately these guys are still alive and able to make decisions.

Thanks for the link. This not really helps me to find a way to integrate a browsers printing functionality for a rockettheme template customized for all browsers. I also think this is more then i can expect from you with this idea about printing in general.

    • ... also it depends on the platform.
On osx I cant print that page including backgrounds etc.
Not sure how that looks like on windows.

Time to create page: 0.051 seconds
