Site selling products. Best way to use templates.

I'm wondering if there is a best practice method of using the menu to display products. Say 20 seperate products.
Should each product be a;
Static content item.
Module
News Article.
etc?
I'm currently going to make them all static content and have a hazy idea that page suffix class can control them.
Also,...........static content items. Are they main body items? or do they show in a module. Yeah, I'm still not totally understanding Joomla. :-[ and this question is probably showing that.
