In WP, how can i display widgets on 1 selected page
Posted 11 years 10 months ago
Forgive me for the elementary question. I'm used to Joomla world and not so familiar with Wordpress.
I have a page that for latest news... it is simply a blog page that displays the latest posts from all categories with the most recent appearing first.
I'd like a blog-styled sidebar to appear in the margin. If I drag my widgets (tag cloud, archive, comments, etc) to the sidebar position, they appear on every page across my site except the homepage. My question is: How do I make these widgets appear ONLY in the Latest News (blog) section of the site?
In Joomla, I'd simply publish these modules to whatever menu items I choose but I'm unsure of how to accomplish this in WP. I'm sure this is the most elementary of questions but I'd appreciate guidance. Thanks.

Consider using the custom stylesheet for all your CSS customizations:

Hi,
the ability to assign widgets (equivalent of "modules" in Joomla) to certain menu items does not exists in WordPress core, so Gantry enables position overrides to determine which widgets will be displayed in which override.
If you're not using Gantry (why? ), you can use the
Widget Logic
plugin instead.
