    • Hi;

Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I have recently migrated my Joomla website from 1.5 to 2.5. This has included a new template and updating all modules.

The website is very slow in loading. And not only on the home page but all the pages.

I've tried to look in firefox but what I saw i didn't understand. Please could someone point me in the right direction. I have installed RokBooster, but doesn't make much difference.

      The website is : www.liverpoolcamra.org.uk/

      Cheers

      Mel

    • Try another webhost. The main issue here is the überslow response from the server before it starts loading anything on your page.

Before changing hosts you can always make a backup of your site and host it on your own computer and then let someone else check if it's still slow...

    • Thanks, does using a shared host make any difference? Should I pay extra for a dedicated host?

    • I'd go for a dedicated one.

Shared hosting is tricky but usually the servers are overloaded with users so your website will be very slow and in general you can't change as many settings as you can with a dedicated server.

It's not worth the frustration of having a shared host like GoDaddy or 1&1 - You will pull your hair pretty fast :D

    • Hi Prim
I've been in touch with my host provider (just host) and they pointed out:

[Thank you for contacting support. There seem to be quite a few MySQL slow queries happening.

Also I found some PHP errors that can be seen under the Statistics section on cPanel by clicking on Error Logs. Here are two errors that I saw for your account today that you may want to look into:

[20-Jul-2013 07:20:56 America/Denver] PHP Fatal error: Class 'JModuleHelper' not found in /home2/liverp11/public_html/libraries/gantry/core/renderers/gantrymodulesrenderer.class.php on line 60

[20-Jul-2013 07:15:10 America/Denver] PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home2/liverp11/public_html/plugins/system/rokbooster/rokbooster.php on line 126]

I've followed advice and hopefully fixed the SQL problems.

however I don't seem to have a module JModuleHelper as identified in the above error message.
      I'm running PHP 5.3 (Single php.ini)

      Cheers
      Mel
