Easy to take for granted what we have with RT

    • Recently, an illustrator friend asked me to help set up his site. He bought the Alfheim template from bang2joom because of it's look. Well, their paid quickstart template package "sort of" loaded on my localhost server...except that all of their components/modules backends were broken. The quickstart package simply wouldn't load on the live server we were going to use...errors everywhere!!. This is exactly the same server setup that runs my RT templates, and I've tried youjoomla and other free templates on same setup..no problems!

I hope everyone on the support team and dev team read this next sentence: Having loaded and tested just about every template from Radiance onward, I have never had an experience where a rocketlauncher package or stand alone template wouldn't load! Have NEVER had a case where an included module or component didn't work. In short, I know from reading the support forum that some have had issues, but frankly, I think if you're using RT, you're using the highest quality product. IF you have a problem, you're going to have a bunch of talented people all over it with code specific to your site offered, and I can't remember ever seeing a post in the support forum that didn't eventually get resolved at some point.

RT...your products are tops! Your support folk are terrific...I hope we as users of your stuff never lose sight of the fact that we're dealing with a company that truly sets a standard for all others to work toward!

    • Hi there,

Thank you for your kind words as most of our posts are requests for help or a rant from a member's frustration. It always means a lot to the team when a member takes time to reflect and comment on their experiences.

We like to think that the community here is part of the reason members keep coming back, that and the great templates of course. Most of the mods started out as members here and just felt they wanted to give a bit back to their co-members.

Once again thanks for taking time out to share. 8)

    • In fairness to bang2joom, I need to update my previous comments...after much frustration, I had my friend resend the "original" downloaded package, and hey guess what?? what he sent me first was something he'd extracted (with a mac), added a bunch of media in the images folder, then rezipped and gave to me! Upon working with the original downloaded files from bang2joom, I have no install issues or broken admin screens. So I'd like to publicly apologize to them, the fault wasn't theirs. However,

in working with the template for awhile this evening, all of my comments about RT's quality, thoroughness, attention to detail, etc. still stand just as firm. I'm sure if I were as familiar with another company's way of less and css coding, I'd probably think it was as easy as yours, but I'm still trying to see a unified idea behind the design (which isn't too bad BTW).

Anyway, I'm certainly not leaving RT any time soon, and David I do hope you'll let the developers and the other support gurus know how much I (and I'm sure I echo 99% of the members) appreciate the initial design, and the superlative followup support! RTs the best!

    • Where's the Like button? :cheesy:

I just want to add to this thread with that I've been a member of RT for 9 years. I think that gives you an idea how much I like it here too.
    • Best wishes,
