    • Hi guys,
Me again, I am have now more post with questions than with answers I feel guilty, after this post I am going to reply to some newbie (as I have only limited php/css knowledge myself) to bring back the equilibrium.
But now, I have a question about access level. ??? How can I disable menu item which is visible in public view to registered people. Normally you would do it vice-a-versa, disable public and only registered would see it, but I would need it opposite way around.

When I create a content page (e.g. static) which is viewed by public, how can I then remove this menu item from viewing when person is registered? Is there such a way? Normally, the registered user has access level one level up, and therefore see what public sees. But I have a specific need to disable this view from registered people.
Why? I have a video section which I would like to enable to registered users only. But when person is newbie (i.e not registered), I would like to show him/her a preview of the ''video component'' by showing him a static content page of the screen shot with title ''please register'' and you will be able to experience the entire video section which you see here.
Thus when person is under public, there will be menu items -> ''videos'' (static content showing him screenshot), but once person gets registered, a true video component menu item would appear (menu item -> videos). But here I don't want to have two menu items ''videos'' and ''videos''.. thus I need to disable from viewing after person gets registered.

Please tell me there is something like this in Joomla.
      Many thanks.

    • You may want to look at other extensions such as JACL but I have never personally used them.
