Adobe Contribute v Joomla! - Your views

Posted 17 years 4 months ago
    • Hi,

Firslty can I just say I love Joomla! Love the way its free, love the way its powerful, love the way its Joomla! So im not going anywhere.

However I am interested in Web Design as a whole and like to know about other products out there. I only recently realized Adobe Contribute atually exists and was wondering if its any good compared to Joomla?

Am I right in thinking this give clients the chance to edit there own content (like Joomla dose via the Admin panel?)

      If so...

How good is it. (I have no Dreamweaver sites to have a bash with.)
and how easy is it for the office novice to use after you hand a site to the client?

    • bah! beat me to it mike. I was just going to post the same link. :]

Two cons make it a none starter for me.

1 - it isn't server side so I will have to install this for clients and they can only access from a PC with this on it.
2 - You have to pay for everyone that is to use it to be legal. In otherwords your prices you charge would go up big time.

    • From the little I read on the Wikipedia page, it sounds like Johan Janssens 'Siteman' (for J1.5). It used to be alongside Docman over at www.joomlatools.org/ but seems to have disappeared. I have a beta somewhere on my hard drive.
