recommendation pls: want profile pages for recording artist/users

- I'd like my registered site users -- the ones that are recording artists -- to be able to create artist profiles that and have those profiles automatically add to a directory listing of artist profiles. Their profiles will be able to include bios, photos, and links. I'm sure there's something that's good I'm not clear on what the best route would be. I appreciate any ideas anyone might have for my music community site. Thx.

Community Builder, and create your own tab with fields that they are required to fill out,,, then those profiles that have the information that qualifies them as a certain kind of registered member can automatically be put on to a users list,, you can have as many lists as you want.
example would be if in the tab it asked if they played guitar or bass or drums.... another question asked if they record in studios or have created their own home studio.....
etc etc etc
each of those answers would yield a different list based on filtering,,, in this way members with similar tastes and interests could find each other..
While I looked at lists,, I eventually took a different route,, I used group jive / CB/ Fire board / events list integration ,, and in this way members can start thier own users groups. make them private, public or invite only. have their own bulletins, private fireboard forum, etc etc etc.......

THX! I didn't realize CB had this capability. I'm already using it so I'll try it's list/filtering feature. GroupJive might be useful integration as well since artist could create their own fan groups and communicate directly with their audiences that way. I may look at group jive in a couple of months.
