I was thrilled when everything worked, and now, I can't login from
www.rglohjahwwans.com/
, while I can from the community page. Any ideas as to why and what I can do about it?
I've made a bunch of external pages with the login module (as copied and pasted code), and now it's not working.
The easier solution would be to use an ftp program and move your site into the root folder, usually (public_html or http_docs). Then change the paths configuration.php.
No, I'm not trying to move my site root, I'm trying to create static pages that have the same look and feel of my Joomla pages. Since I'm launching a paid site with 1SC and amember, my /community (joomla root) folder is protected and only members can gain access. I want to be able to control the url, so I just copied the HTML from the index.php (by browsing to the page and choosing View|Source, and then saving it). I then just added the text into the content area.
I thought it was really really cool when the login form worked, because that way all of the pages give visitors access to the site and to the signup form.
If there's any way I can create those URL's in Joomla, please let me know...also...I'd have to figure out how the pages could be made visible to the public. Yes, I could select "public" in Joomla, but how would I do that in amember? I understand that that's a question for amember, but It would be great to see a reply here.
I'll ask at amember if I can make specific files "public," even if they are in the protected "community" folder. If that works, then I can make a category of public items and the problem would be that I wouldn't want them visible within my membership site. I'd somehow have to unpublish them and have them be visible under the appropriate URL's listed above.
Can you see why I just copied and pasted the HTML?
Solutions and suggestions would be most appreciated!
I don't understand why this topic has been moved to the water cooler. I'm trying to get pages to function with an appropriate URL and template. If I could create the pages in Joomla, I would, but I don't know how to get the URL's to work, and I don't know how to "release" those pages in my membership software.
If I think this through, I'm just trying to be able to choose my filenames within Joomla. Then, I need to figure out how to release individual pages in my membership software.
