    • If I have a local server running on my laptop (JSAS), how can I browse to the "sites" within?

On Windows I just go http://laptop:85/joomla but this does not work on the Mac. ???

Yeah but I need to access my JSAS server running over the network, 'cause I won't always be running from my Mac.

    • On my laptop, I could access my localhost from another laptop on my network, by going to the internal IP such as 192.168.1.4:85 or something similar.

    • The IP works, however it's not static between home and the office network; also I'll have to reconfigure all the JSAS site configs to make it work...

Just seems that the Windows network names are not resolved, as it doesn't work in Vista & XP which I have installed on the Mac, basically the same problem.

I don't know enough about the networking side of things to fix it...
