Frontpage Access problem

Hi there, I have an access problem with my frontpage on a simplix template. I thought I was being very clever by solving a problem I had with a frontpage title that I could not hide by giving the the content item the name " "
I used two spaces for the title and when I wanted to edit it I ticked the box and then clicked edit in content items manager in administrator.
My problem now when I log in as administrator is that the author of the content item is 'Web Master' and I cannot get access to edit the frontpage item. The box next to the item is locked and i cannot tick, and as the item does not have a title I cannot click it to edit.
I had a reference to Christmas week that I really need to change before I go back to work tomorrow, I am not feeling so clever anymore!

I seem to have solved my own bizarre problem in a typically bizarre fashion. By changing the administrator password I now have access to the item again!
A slightly embarrassing beginning to my new year's joomla editing, but oh well, "experience" is the name we give to our mistakes.
