The backend seems fine... although there were a number of components that I could not edit, throwing an error, but they were, more or less, not being used and, more or less, uninstalled normally. I also uninstalled any related modules and bots, but the site still won't come up.
Does anyone have any idea what may be wrong? I don't even know how long it has been like this - it could be a day or two, or it could even be as much as a couple of weeks (I don't check it all that often).
The host recently upgraded to php 5.2, but they insist that isn't it, and reverted back to previous versions to show that the site doesn't work under any version of php.
I have switched templates, but that doesn't make a difference... so I can eliminate Colormatic as the culprit.
I've turned off and back on various modules... so I'm assuming it is a Joomla core file, but I have no idea where to go from here.
Thanks in advance for any advice you all may be able to offer!!
They were forced to eat Robin's minstrels.... and there was much rejoicing.
Any chance that you have backups of the site and the database? [he says with fingers crossed]
Best of luck.

Just a shot in the dark here, and maybe a red herring, but here goes. What version of Joomla are you using? If it is an older version, maybe maybe maybe updating it to the latest version may help. [big maybe]
Just thinking out loud, best of luck!

I backed everything up (db & site files), reinstalled joomla 1.10.13 and crossed my fingers. I now have access to the backend and I reloaded the database, so far so good. the frontend works with only rhuk's solarflare default template, but no longer with firenzie
I tried copying from the old site the firenzie template directory, I could chose it in template manager, but when I set it as default, I get the white page. So I tried to delete the template and the server boots me out. SO I deleted the directory in fetch and tried to reload a virgin copy of Firenze. it won't let me (probably because there are still remnant files from previous install??)
Have you tried installing a different RT template just to see if it works?
