OS for browsing the internet?

Hey
I have a spare computer, and wondered what the most 'bare' operating system is? All I want is to be able to turn it on and then make it auto-launch a web-browser. Thats all.
What OS do you reckon would be best for this? A distro of Linux, and if so, which one?
