SUSE 10.1 with Plesk of Fedora 6 with Plesk?

One thing, that jumps my eye, is that both are WAY outdated... The actual SuSE is 10.3, and the actual Fedora is 8 - since the Support-Cycle (Updates etc.), so both of these releases are almost at their End Of Life span.

If you ask me, Fedora is the System of choice... I've been using it for 8+ years now and still prefer it over any other
There is probably a reason, why most Providers use RedHat/Fedora too

I don't really have a choice on the version, but I take your point, though I can probably upgrade it once ive applied the image of the OS

by the way: Fedora offers an extremely easy way to upgrade to the next version - afaik there is no such thing in SuSE.
In Fedora you just download/install the upgraded Package-Info with
> rpm -iH ftp://<whatever>
and then enter
> yum upgrade
That's it. Your Server will then download everything it needs for the new Version and you can then reboot it at any time and have a fully upgraded system.
Also with "yum update" you can check at any time for the most actual versions of all programs on your system and it will automatically download and upgdate everything.

- I see... how important is Plesk to you? You could use ISPConfig instead... there's a nice Tutorial on that here: www.howtoforge.com/fedora-8-server-lamp-email-dns-ftp-ispconfig

Well im not really that confident with that sort of side of things. I'm fine with windows servers and all the DNS etc, but havn't really strayed into Linux based solutions until now
