Have You Integrated And ASP.net Apps?

Hey guys,
I have an ASP.net developer working on a project for my site that we would like to fully integrate. We know some of the details like where to get usernames, etc... but one thing we seem to be having trouble finding is how Joomla (php) handles the session id.
Do any of you know where we can find that information, and possibly a good way to integrate that with ASP.net's method of handling session ids?
