Still in search of forum for J1.0.15; questions about bridges, page titles, etc

I've been struggling for a month to find a viable forum for my first Joomla site, given my affinity for forums.
I am resolved to use J1.0.15 for my first site, given the main focus of this site is to give users the ability to enter form data in the db, then allow other users to query/filter/search these data and render a nice table/grid view; the extension is nearly ready for J1.5, but probably a few months off is more realisitc. I'll use J1.5 for all subsequent sites, so using a bridge shouldn't be a problem.
So here's my problem:
1.) I would like the forums bridged, as the data-entry section of the site will be password protected to maintain the integrity of the db; I'd rather not force people to login twice!
2.) I really want the page titles for the overall site to assume the title of the respective thread.
Do any of the bridges allow for #2? Or, given that they are wrapped, will my wrapped forums behavior much like the mothership here and every single page will display the site name, rather than the thread name?
I've taken Fireboard for multiple test drives, but, and no offense to anyone, just can't stomach the look and feel and overall forum script. I really, REALLY like phpbb3, so this would be my first choice, but bridges are almost nonexistant (heard CBconnector might work for me shortly).
So it seems the forum options are:
1.) Fireboard fully integrated...solves all my problems, save the fact I can't even play with the component for more than 10 minutes before I swear and have strong disdain for the software.
2.) Bridged SMF forums (but don't think I can bridge any Joomla install > 1.0.12? And not sure the page titles work like I would like?)
3.) wrapped phpbb3 with no bridge...then neither #1 nor #2 are pareto optimal.
I am really struggling here and welcome any advice for the newbie Rocketeer

I am looking for a good forum to bridge with Joomla 1.0.15..... find anything yet? I am attempting to use SMF and JSMF Bridge but having some trouble and it looks like Joomlahacks has stopped supporting the bridge. If anyone can suggest anything, please PM me. Thanks.

Hey Terp, may I suggest that you setup a test site and install phpbb3 and the RokBridge beta?
Worth a shot in my humble opinion.

I am with ya, Roland; this is an old thread...since moved on to J1.5 just so I can use the bridge and phpbb3.
I did find some nice SMF templates, but given that MyBlog and the other extension I use, Fabrik, are now running native J1.5, it was a no brainer for me...think it's best to go J1.5, if possible, given the future seems bright (and new extensions becoming available every day).
