I started to convert Firenzie for WPNU last night, got kind of far, not much more to go.

I have only worked on the homepage, not single content pages, but they will be easy once I get the home working right.

I don't see anything else but an error message.

    • I have FF and IE7 and it is working in them, at least for me. Maybe you hit it when the Database was down or something.

    • That looks like an IP block, I put an IP block on 87.xxx, I removed the block, see if that works.

I keep seeing in my visitor log these numbers popping up that are either going through the message boards or acting like a web crawler, but they are not identified as one.

I should add that I do realize they are most likely just using a proxy, but it gets old, the constant attacks, and I have seen where they have had like 20 connections at once, because of using the random IP.

For me, the biggest negative about Joomla as a news site is the inability to publish articles in multiple categories. That really sucks.

Well, Superman :P - I am finding that more and more a good thing... When I first started I thought it sucked, but more and more it just keeps me focused.

Granted I have yet to build they site of my dreams using the above statement, but the simplicity of it seems to work more and more for me, as I familiarize myself with website design.

Of course one day when I grow up - I want to be just like you, except without the tight pants :P or the funny cape.

LOL - Actually, I retired my Superman status a long time ago (but not for web design), and as for tights? I professionally cycled and did the whole spandex tights thing (all I can say is women are worse than men). So, thanks for the offer...but no thanks. ;D

    • I have been working on this thing to the point that if they own Firenzie, I would only have to give them a few files for them to have a template that will work almost exactly like the RT one.

Next step will be to work on allowing them to change the hilite prefix from the admin, but right now they make the changes in one file.

I have all my RT_Firenzie files in a theme folder, I then have these other files that grab what it needs. So, if someone that had Firenzie wanted to put it on their WP site, all they would need is around 8 more files. It could jump to the amount of widgets/modules, which is how WP is setup,to pull widget files (example: sidebar.php, l_sidebar.php), but I have eliminated them.

I would think I am doing it the better way, closer to Joomla, so maybe they would end up going this route, if not, maybe a branch because there is no need for all those extra files.

I have purchased a domain name, so I may start doing this for a small fee. They would have to have a normal RT or who ever, themes, and this would bridge them. Each theme would have to have its own bridge because no two Joomla themes are alike.

    • I also should note that though I say I have eliminated the widget files, if they wanted to switch themes, they could go to any WP theme and not have to add back the files I eliminated, that is the best part. I have eliminated them from the Firezine for WP theme, yet it does not effect any other theme, because the other themes need those files, they are included with those themes.
