I went to NetSol to check the availability of domain names, one I like was available, so I went to Lunarpages to add it to my account, says it is not available. I check Net Sol, they say it is available, check GoDaddy, not available, check NetSol, available, check Lunarpages, not available, go back to NetSol, go through the process to order it, I figured I would just have it point to the Lunarpages server, I made sure not to buy any services, just wanted he domain name, they wanted like $39.00, so I go for another name slightly different at Lunarpages.
Now, check today, name is available at NetSol, but nowhere else. Did they put a premium on the name? It is like they have a hold on it, which is why I hate to check availability because they would know someone wants that name, then the games begin.

Those MFr's. Says "Status: clientHold", so they are holding it, presumably for me, but they want a premium. It is a good name that would sell.
I presume that if anyone else went to NetSol, it would be available to them, unless they are using cookies, which they seem to do with all the selling they do.
I have just always gone there, since I have been involved in this stuff since mid-late 90's. They were who you had to go through in the beginning, so I still go there to check on names, wont anymore.
Thanks for the info.
The only reason I found out, did not think of doing a whois, but I check godaddy one more time, they said not available, but gave me a who is search, and there it was.
I had the identical experience. Waited a day and secured the Domain Name I wanted with HostMonster. NetSol is a turn off. NetSol is a Major exploiter and they attempt to leverage consumers by holding Domain Name hostage for a ridiculous $34.99 ransom. Bottom line, don't search for Domain Name via NetSol.
If you don't want your domain stolen (Domain kiting), use GoDaddy. Parsons is a pervert and his company objectifies women... but at least they're honest with their domain sales.
