Add graphic directly next to core content in contect area [pic included]

I am not quite sure how you would go about doing something like this with Joomla without a major overhaul of the template (having to module area to either side take on the properties of the content area in look and feel).
I have a few pages, like a site map page and contact us page, both of which are using a component, that I would like to add a graphic next to the form; in the DNN world where I come from, you can put content in any of the module panes, but in Joomla certain content must go into the content area and not module areas.
How could achieve this using RT and Joomla? Granted this screen shot is from an old DNN site I had and I would tone down the Web 4.0 jumbo email stamp, but this should give you a visual.

The Joomla Contact form allows you to put an image beside the form.
