Secret to Using Header Tags? My Text is Wrapping After the Tag!

Posted 17 years 3 weeks ago
    • Okay, in the past, I have used (probably incorrectly) the following example to put text into my header area of a site...some Google fodder with a header tag:
      <h1 align="left"><font size="3">Keyword | Keyword | Keyword</font></h1>

When using Joomla combined with RT templates, when I use any header tag (whether h1, h2,..., h6), the text wraps following the word wrapped with the header tag.

I have been the editor turned off, so I tried turning on the Tiny MCE editor thing-a-ma-jing and trying styling the text and letting the editor deal with the code; but highlighting the two words I want in an h3 tag, for example, sets the entire paragraph to h3...just can't tag a few words in a paragraph without 1.) wrapping all subsequent text or 2.) without tagging each and every word.

I tried removing the line height in the template CSS, changing the size to be 100% (I like to use an h1 tag in the header, but also control the size of the text to match the rest of the site, so the naked eye doesn't see the h1 affect, which is why I always used to font size tag to control for this in my previous pre-Joomla life). :)

      What's the secret?

    • There is no way to wrap a few words with header tags and have the syle applied just to those few words and not the whole sentence?
