    • Well the question is in the poll but I'd like to know what people think. At times it seems google favors wordpress. To me it seems likee 1.5 offers everything Wordpress does but more so it should be up to the developer. Not that mine is all that great. :)

    • For SEO, WP wins for sure.

Even 1.5 is way off. However, with all the 3pd extensions and in particular the JoomlaAtWork SEO hack, you can get acceptable enough SEO/SEF url's.

If this is really important to you, bookmark www.alledia.com

    • i'll agree with GollumX in reference to the joomlatwork patch
if you use it properly you'll see much better returns

however, i cant stress this enough, that the content is the most important ..

    • Okay, can anyone say why i tis better? Complicated reasons? I'm pretty shocked and a little disappointed because I prefer Jooomla but... yea clicks are good. I created rustyferguson.com the other day and it is already ranked at the top for that key word and there arer a lot of reusty ferguson's out there. Apparently one is some what famous. I used Word Press.

I WAS thinking of taking it down and replacing wiith Joomla. But I'll build a Joomla site behind it with a subdomain. I just love my Rocket Theme's and would like to keep using those themes.

    • Why? there is none better or worse ( for the most part) each is a tool,, use the right tool for the job.

what is it your tryin to build? if SEO is the only param by which you base the choice on which tool to use, you will sell yourself short,,,,,,

SEO is,, a science onto itself :) ,,, but know IT and suddenly questions like which script is better to use will fall away. and you will have opened yourself to a wider world of choices as far as site building is concerned.

    • Right now I'm working on two sites. I'm doing a blog about myself but trying to provide information about my travels in the Philippines. I retired and moved to paradise. :) So I've created two sites at one domain. www.rustyferguson.com and http://cebu.rustyferguson.com.  My plan is to use the main domain to refer to eveything on the cebu subdomain plus put everything not related to cebu on the main domain. The main domain is WordPress while cebu. is Joomla.

I'm not sure which is tool is better for when. Joomla seems like it would always be better for handing large amounts of content. But I'm retired and need to supplement my income and will be adding google ads later. But I need traffic so SEO is important. I don't expect overnight success.

I'm going to do another site at cebuexperience.com. It will be a BBS. I plan to use Joomla there at the front end and use the theme that came out 12/07 with the matching fireboard theme. I have to work on the cheap, moving to paradise has its advantages but it also means selling everything I owned for next to nothing and buying it all over again. At the moment my Rocket Theme has expired. :(

So help me out here which is the best when?

      Thanks for the help!!!

The poll is split straight down the middle. I'm not surprised. lol

    • Since we are on the subject of SEO, I have another question about keywords. It is my understanding they are not as important as they use to be but... When I use the keyword Philippines, I usually include it in my keywords in lower case. Should it be upper case? Both. I'm using that word as an example but any proper known would apply. Thanks again.
