Need help with registration form

I am trying to find a way to modify the registration form so I can have one of four classifications assigned to a new register which will also be visable on the profile pages. I suspect that there is uite a bit of work involved in doing this and I'll glad to pay a reasonable fee to have the wrk done.
Let me know if anyone can help - thank you in advance.
