What version of Joomla are you using, 1.0.x or 1.5.x?

In the J1.5 install, a 'Sections' Module has been created, but it's not active.
When you created your new 'Sections' Module, did you enable and publish it?
Still seems weird though, if you've created new sections they still should show up in what ever 'Section' Module you publish.
Being a beginner myself, the only thing I can think of...
Does the new Section you created have any content? I wonder if an empty Section will show.
If your Section is empty, try adding an article to it and see what happens.
