ColorMatic Rocket Launcher -- what is the FTP Root Path?

  • ColorMatic Rocket Launcher -- what is the FTP Root Path?

Posted 17 years 6 days ago
    • I finally got the rocketlauncher install window to open.
But, in step 5 "FTP Configuration" it asks for an
      FTP Root Path.

Nothing seems to work. My host (SiteGround does not show
what the root path is -- or I can't find it)

I've tried every possible ftp path I can think of -- no luck

Any Help? What is the format of an ftp root path (What
      is a typical example?)

Thanks again for all your help...

    • You can skip that step and use a 3rd party FTP client.

My host doesn't support Joomla's FTP either.
    • Thanks,

    • I don't know about your host, but if you have a control panel, you can create an ftp account exclusively for your Joomla install. The idea is to provide limited ftp access rather than inserting the values from your main ftp account--creating a security risk as with any host I have dealt with, the login user name and password for you main ftp account would be the same as that for your account.

In your Control Panel, find the button for FTP accounts. Set up an account allowing access only to the Joomla folder (whatever you have named it) and create a unique user name and password.

Enter that information into the ftp configuration. The Control Panel ftp account will limit access to the designated folder or folders.

At least, that is my understanding.
