Frontpage Blog format?

Hey guys,
I'm looking to edit my frontpage into more of a blog format, I mean I've already got that configuration enabled.
In particular I'm looking to have my frontpage display so that there's a little graphic essentially or something with like the date displayed next to the article title.
Something, kinda like this:
www.mijnjoomlasite.nl/blog/
Where it shows 29 April, right next to the title of the article?
I don't suppose anybody has any idea how to make the frontpage display in that manner?
