Is it a Mac with an Intel processor?
What operating system are you running?
In the latest version, theres a utility called BootCamp, using it you can partition the HDD and get it ready for a Windows install, turning your laptop into a dual boot Mac / Windows machine.
If you don't have BootCamp as part of your OS, I think you can download it at Apple.
There's another option, using software called Parallels, this install Windows within the Mac OS and allows you to run a virtual Windows machine in a window in the OS, which eliminates the need to reboot to switch OSs.
It's retail software, so you'll have to purchase it.

Not entirely true. You can install VirtualPC from Microsoft on a G4, BUT it will be extremely slow on a PowerBook and pretty much any PowerPC Macs.
You can not install Windows as the single OS on a PowerPC G4, nor any Macs with any version of PowerPC ( like G3 and G5), so the only solution would be to install a virtualiser like VirtualPC. Neither Parallels nor VMware will function on the PowerBook.
You pretty much only got two OS's that can be install on the older Macs with PowerPC cpu's, and these two are Linux and Mac OS X. I'm sory to tell you this as this is probably not what you would like to hear. :'(
