    favicon.ico

Posted 16 years 6 months ago
    • I don't know if this is template related, but one of you peeps probably know the answer. My favicon.ico shows up in firefox then disappears back to the blank ico (page looking icon). In I.E. is works fine. And yes I have cleared the private data.

      He is the site www.triomasonry.com

      Thanks for any help.

    • Where is the favicon.ico?

Does the template have more than one style folder?
    • Thanks,

    • Try copying the favicon to your Joomla install folder AND the image directory of the template/ style that you are using.

    • @ JEM - just Hivemind

@ Roland - I copied it to the joomla folder and the template folder. It pops up in Firefox as the ico but then reverts back. It is like it doesn't have one.

    • William,

Some templates have more that one style.

Some have dark / light, others have style1 / style2, etc.

      joomla/templates/hivemind/images/style

      Whare was the favico.ico originally?

Did you copy the .ico file to the template folder or the template/ style that you are using folder? Try the latter if you did the former.

    • Chris,

Showed up for me on every menu except the blog page....

Could be stuck in your cache, have you tried clearing it or deleting temporary internet files?

      William,

Do you have SEF turned on? Wonder if that makes a difference...?

    • Yeah, SEF is turned on. You probably have something there. What is weird is that it is fine in IE but Firefox gives it problems. Not a big deal, just annoying.

    • I think it does have something to do with SEF. I turned it off, then back on and then it started showing my favicon correctly
