    Where your business does falls under?

    • Hello,

      I would like everyone who has experience in this filed opinion.

      Here is the thing: For years now I have been doing web design and maintenance for people I know, their friends and their friends of friends.. So far I have used paypal account to receive payments and sometime checks or even Cash

      My so called company or studio to be more realistic “Indrit Design Studio” it is just me in fact. Me, my self and Indrit. I have not been required so far to pay taxes simply because I was running my little business outside of USA and I did not have too many clients. Since now I am officially located in USA I want to know more about it being legal as well as the steps of registering my design studio. I want to be well prepared before I even go out and spread the word of my service.

      Is there a limit profit before I even consider registering my studio?

      I have seen a lot of Ltd, or LLC but I never know where my little business falls under.

      Some one can help me set this right?

    • If you're a freelancer doing business under a business name, you can register as a DBA (Doing Business As), however, to protect your personal assets against lawsuits from clients and others, I suggest becoming an LLC.

      I did this through LegalZoom.com. They have a very good service.

      I used TurboTax.com to file my taxes. They are very good at finding tax deductions, like the portion of your home that you use as a business office, filing quarterly tax payments, etc.
