    • Hi All... hope my subject title is clear...

      Hey, the last 4 or 5 templates have been REALLY great... I think the last 2 are the best overall.
      Here's what I am thinking...

      I'd like to experiement in finding a cool way to have headers OR logos [IN the HEADER area] do one of the following.
      Love to know how to do both actually.

      1) Have the header or Logo pix change over time... like a template did a few months back...

      2) WAY groovier perhaps would be to be able to have DIFFERENT logo pix AND/OR header pix Change specifically whenever a different menu button was presssed. Don't know if it would matter if the menu button was strapped to a content blog say... or say a component...

      anyone know how to have the header pix OR logo area pix [in the header area] CHANGE [to what I choose] when a Menu Item is clicked???


      That would be the MAIN thing I could think of... as lately it's been getting pretty groovy in the Header area...
      Like I mentioned before here... I figure we pretty much all change our head pix at least so the best thing I thought was to make the header area really flexible... it seems SO under-used... Actually why sin't the Header area a MODULE position that we can do what we do with regular module positions??

      Have I missed something..... I hope so!

      Hello Mark,

      I believe Andy did something like this with the "Geo-Sync" template, where each menu item was designated a particular color, and the logo changed colors for each section. Each section was assigned a different stylesheet.

      I haven't had a chance to take a look through Geo-Sync to see exactly what he did to make it work so elegantly (never even realized he had used this feature until just the other day) :) I'd suggest taking a peek at that template's code, and I'm sure some of the other members here are probably very familiar with this functionality and can help out as well.

      hey.didn't know about geosync.. tho fire or one around there had the header changing thing..

      yesh, nice.
      Well, was thinking about having the pix change when a page is changed.. or the auto-rotate thing as well....
      Will be thinking on this..

      I DO get a bit pseudo-nervous about hacking code from one of andy's masterpiece into another...especially the recent ones..

      Tho I'll try to be brave... hehehe

    • I am just finishing up another version of a modified core random image module that will "server side" rotate a <img> tag within a template. No javascript/flash needed. I will be posting it in the member submissions later today (EST). You can use this to display different images on different menu sections by creating multiple module copies.

      Some of Andy's designs use the background: url for headers.
      I also created a module using the same core module that will display a random background image from a directory by using in-line CSS style which uses the background: url to perform this trick.

      Depending on the template design this random background image module might work for you.
