Displaying a module only on front page

  • Displaying a module only on front page

    • Hi,

This is more of a generic Joomla question I guess but thought you guys might be able to give me a quick answer. I have my front page setup as I would like it and I'm using the Inset module to display a graphic and a News ticker. When a user clicks on any article link I don't want to display anything in the Inset module any more and have the text from the main section have that whole area.

      Easily done or not?

      Cheers,

      Mark

    • hi marc!

i am not sure if this is what you mean, but in case the graphic and the newsticker are modules themselves, you can go to the module manager, select the module that contains the graphic and newsticker and select in the menu assignment that you only want them to be displayed on the frontpage (usually you will have to assign it to "mainmenu home").

check the attachment. i believe depending on your template, the inset position should then be empty and fully collapsed on all pages except the frontpage.

      hope that helps. kat

    • Hi Kat,

Absolutely spot on! Saved me a lot of time there ;D

Spent hours on making some decent forms with huge amounts of data moving around to find they just got squashed by that module. All fixed now though!

      Many thanks and much appreciated!
