Global Settings to Hide or Show Email, Author, Date... in 1.5

hi!
i am new to joomla 1.5. and i was trying to find where to change the global settings to hide or show article parameters, such as email, print, pdf icons, the author name and created date.
i cant find it, please help! ???

The place to change these preferences varies somewhat depending on how you're viewing the article/sections/categories. You can, of course, change the preferences per content item, but what you're generally going to be doing is setting the overall preferences first in the Parameters button of the Article Manager itself.
Technically, the global settings are only set in the Article Manager and everything else is an override--whether it is for a menu item displaying a category or in the preferences for a single article itself.
For example, I have a menu item of the type Articles ยป Category / Blog that lists an entire category's worth of content items in a blog format. If I want to change the display of each of those article types I can set those preferences to be different from the global options by clicking on the link to the menu item itself and opening up the Parameters - Component section, while the Parameters - Advanced section is what does it in an individual article.
But, just to reiterate the original point, and give a short answer, to change the global display preferences for articles go to the Article Manager and select the Parameters button, which will give you a lightbox-esque popup and where all those settings can be changed.

When you scroll down, the Save and Cancel buttons go out of view...
So, when you get to the bottom, don't forget to scroll back up and save your changes...
